Building Permits Secured for Revised Plans
Alhamdulillah, we have successfully secured two important permits from the City of Kitchener, bringing us one step closer to beginning construction.
Alhamdulillah, we are excited to announce that the City of Kitchener has approved and issued two critical permits for our community project at 1680 Glasgow St.
The Permits
After working closely with city officials to update our plans in compliance with current bylaws and building codes, we have successfully obtained:
- Building Permit - For interior alterations and a staircase addition to the KW Islamic School and Community Centre
- Septic System Permit - For the installation of a new septic system to serve our facility

Background
The original building permit for our property was issued back in 2004. However, the City of Kitchener required the new management to update the approved plans to comply with updated bylaws and the current building code. After careful review and revisions, our updated plans have been approved.
What This Means
With these permits in hand, we now have the official authorization to proceed with construction. This is a significant milestone that clears the way for the physical work to begin on our 22,000+ square foot facility.
